Taking care of your jewellery is easy, will keep it looking its best and make it last! This means taking simple steps like removing it while swimming or exercising and keeping it away from harsh chemicals.
Sterling Silver
Sterling silver is made to last. It won't lose its colour or turn your skin green, but it will tarnish to varying degrees when exposed to water, air, sweat, chlorine and other chemicals or left unworn for long periods of time. Storing your piece where it is safe and dry will help it keep its shine. If it becomes tarnished, a silver cleaning polishing cloth or silver cleaning solution will help. If your silver piece is in need of a deep clean or polish, I am happy to help get it back to its best self free of charge (excluding postage).
Gold-plated silver
I plate my jewels in an 18ct hard-gold coating. Gold plating will naturally wear off over time. You can make this coating last as long as possible by storing these pieces separately and avoiding exposure to sweat, water and harsh chemicals. If your plating is in need of a refresh I provide a re-plating service from $30 (excluding postage).REPAIRS/CUSTOM
Repairs
If you've left your jewels rattling around in the bottom of your bag for a little too long, snagged them on a t-shirt mid-removal, or they've met with any other ill fate, I can help! Customisation
Customisations are welcome where possible, but will incur extra costs. This could include things like adding some pretty gem stones, creating pieces in solid gold or alternate chain lengths/styles.Email hello@dibsdibsdibs.com with your vision.
